May 19, 1944. From a young school chum Eggert to his pal Marvin.

A sweet note from a young school chum with not much to say to his pal, fresh in the Army.

Dear Marvin,

How do you like the Army? I heard that it is very hot down there in Texas.

The weather has got warmer hear and it looks like that we are going to have a storm.

I would of have written sooner but because I have been so busy doing display work down at wards.

Verma has been going home with me and Margaret on Sunday night and we are still going together.

I have been out marching for two days in ROTC getting ready for the special day which is called federal inspection which is held on the twenty-fifth.

Marvin I don’t much news so I will close now so that I can do some of my school work.

I’m going to do my school work now for a while.

Your pal, Eggert.

p.s. write and let me know if you want anything from home.
